Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham, Professor Sir David Greenaway, shared valuable insights into his varied and successful career with members and guests when he attended our June monthly lunch as guest speaker.

Professor Sir David Greenaway has forged an indisputably impressive career to date. Attendees at the lunch heard more about his work, which includes being a consultant to such organisations as the World Bank, the European Commission and the United Nations, as well as being chair of the UK Armed Forces Pay Review Body from 2004 until 2010.

Having previously been the University of Nottingham’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for both research and infrastructure, Professor Sir David Professor Greenaway was appointed the university’s sixth Vice‑Chancellor in 2008.

A Professor of Economics, David was the founding director of the Leverhulme Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy.  His research interests lie primarily in the fields of trade and labour market adjustment, cross-border investment, and international trade policy.

In 2014 he received a knighthood for services to higher education in Her Majesty The Queen’s 2014 Birthday Honours list and in September 2012 was awarded an Honorary Citizenship of Ningbo, China.
