At our latest monthly lunch, the 86 year-old son of the club’s founder and former president, John McMeeking, met the club’s youngest attendee to date, 17-year-old entrepreneur, Dan Miller.

The meeting is symbolic of our club’s long history of bringing together senior business people from across Nottingham to share and learn from each other’s experiences. Founded in 1924, we celebrated our 90^th anniversary last year and are the oldest business club outside London.

Dan Miller, founder and managing director of Young Professionals, a Nottingham-based networking and careers training service for students and young people, said: “The Nottingham City Business Club is a long-established forum through which generation upon generation of local business people have helped one another to success. It’s from this concept that I founded my own business and so it was a real pleasure to chat with John at the lunch.”

The club has hosted monthly lunches with speeches from prominent local business figures since its conception. 2015 is no exception, with Alistair Cunningham, East Midlands Agent of The Bank of England speaking on 17 July; David Robinson, brand president at Speedo International on 18 September; Steve Thomas, managing director of strategic development at Experian PLC on 16 October and Karen Bowes, Vice-President of International HR at Capital One on 13 November.
