Nottingham City Business Club Golf Dat a Great Success

A team from FC7 Construction led by Jenna Frudd has won the 2016 Nottingham City Business Club golf day which took place recently at the Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club.  The runners up were a team from John Pye Property.

18 teams representing various businesses and organisations in Nottingham took part in the event: John Pye Property, Actons Solicitors, Air IT, CEMA, Quartz Legal, Foremost Security, Gas Container Services, Inside Out, Jamieson Christie Wealth Management, Smooth Radio, Turner & Townsend; UHY Hacker Young and Urban Village Property Investments, Williams & Glynn (Bank), FC7 Construction, Riverfall Financial. Through a combination of sponsorship, a raffle and entry fees, the event also raised over £1,000 for  Parkinson’s UK Nottingham Branch.

The Nottingham City Business Club Golf Day was first competed for in 1929 but stopped in 1982.  It was re-introduced in 2011 and since then it has been won by teams from UHY Hacker Young, CEMA, Sherwood Place Wealth Management and Towergate Risk Solutions and John Pye Property.

“The event has become increasingly popular with it being sold out in March this year,” said James Simmonds, president of the Nottingham City Business Club.  “Everyone really enjoyed it and it was great to raise money for Parkinson’s UK Nottingham Branch too.”

Sponsors of the event were John Pye Property, Air IT, Jamieson Christie, FC7 Construction, NCBC and Turner & Townsend.

Jenna Frudd commented:” We had a great time at the golf day and were delighted that we won.  We’ll definitely be back next year to see if we can retain the cup.”

Deborah Labbate organiser and former president of the club said: “I am delighted that, since re-introducing the charity golf day to the club’s calendar after finding the trophy in 2011, the event has gone from strength to strength.”
