Managing director of Butt Foods announced as NCBC guest speaker

Butt Foods is a national bakery supplier based in Nottingham, which specialises in flat breads, naan breads and sub rolls.

David will be speaking to guests at the lunch about his experience in growing a business, and his fascinating story of turnaround in the market and growth at an SME business.

The event will take place at the Park Plaza Hotel on Maid Marian Way from 11.45am.

Butt Foods was launched by founder Mazhar Butt, who started making naan breads in his Asian restaurant – with a sellout on his first day. His reputation soared and the company was started, before branching out into complete bakery solutions for the food sector. They make hand-finished frozen savoury and sweet products, which are used by establishments across the country.

As well as being the managing director of the business, David Williams is a board member of the D2N2 LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership), chairs the D2N2 Growth Hub and is also a director of 3w Growth Ltd, which provides business owners with expert advice on growth, succession and exit.

“It’s a real honour to be asked to speak at the Nottingham Business Club September meeting,” said David Williams. “As a Nottingham business ourselves, I am looking forwards to sharing our story.”

“We are really pleased that David has agreed to speak at our September event,” said Mark Deakin, president of Nottingham City Business Club. “It will be fascinated to hear about his experiences at Butt Foods.”

Nottingham City Business Club was established in 1924 and its membership comprises of senior representatives of the local business community.

The club holds monthly lunch meetings for members to meet fellow senior business people in the city, with different prominent guest speakers featuring at each event.

The September event will take place at the Park Plaza Hotel, on Maid Marian Way, Nottingham, with registration beginning at 11:45am. Tickets cost £27.50 for members and £39.50 for non members. To book a place, visit the NCBC website: nottinghamcitybusinessclub.co.uk.
