February lunch with David Browning

Around 70 members and guests attended the recent Nottingham City Business Club lunch at which David Browning, managing director of MediCity, was the guest speaker.

David spoke about how he is leveraging his knowledge and experience to help entrepreneurs solve healthcare challenges.  He also talked about investment and export insights following a recent trip to China.

Launched two years ago, MediCity is an incubator designed to provide a stimulating and supportive business development environment for innovators in consumer healthcare, medical technology, diagnostics and beauty products.  Its community now contains more than 30 entrepreneurial companies.

David applies thirty five of healthcare experience to MediCity, harnessing entrepreneurship to meet healthcare challenges by creating the optimal environment and personalised support for innovators.

He trained as a biomedical scientist within the UK National Health Service, and developed clinical diagnostics within Phillips and Johnson & Johnson. He has also coached many companies through the UK Government’s Growth Accelerator programme.

“I was delighted to have the opportunity to talk about MediCity,” said David. “It’s always a welcomed opportunity to talk about all the amazing support MediCity offers the companies based there.”

“David shared some great insights from his world of science and support,” said Nic Elliott, president of the Nottingham City Business Club “It was fascinating to hear about the range of businesses that MediCity supports and how David uses his experience in health sciences to help them develop.”

Sarah King, founder and managing director of We Are Unstuck, will be the guest speaker at the next lunch which takes place on Friday 18 March.
