At Christmas, with the emphasis being more on the entertainment value of our speaker, we welcomed Mike Bushell, who presents the sport on BBC Breakfast, as our guest speaker.
He proved to be a very popular and engaging speaker, attracting an audience of over 100 people and Mike seemed to enjoy his time in Nottingham and at the club too.
As he said: “It was the most wonderful speaking experience ever. It was fantastic to meet such an inspirational group of people – what a group and what a city. I just didn’t want to leave. I have been blown away.”

Mike Bushell
Mike started his career working for local newspapers before joining BBC Radio Solent in Southampton in 1990 and then moved into television on BBC South. In 2006 he started his BBC Breakfast TV show on a Saturday morning with the mission of proving that there is a sport for everyone and showing that no-one should be left out because they feel embarrassed, rubbish or unfit to do sport
The Timetable
What to expect at NCBC
Arrival at 11:45, sign in and collect your badge before being escorted into the reception area.
Enjoy a bit of opening networking with the other members and guests of the lunch. Drinks included.
Sit down for a two course lunch including a starter and a main followed by coffee. After lunch the guest speaker will take to the podium for their speech.
The meeting and lunch is drawn to a close.
Guests and members are invited to continue their discussions at The Castle Pub afterwards. NCBC members receive 10% discount with their Castle card.
