EDDIE THE EAGLE EDWARDS TO SPEAK AT NCBC CHRISTMAS EVENT

Eddie was the first Briton to ever compete in an Olympic Games ski jumping competition.  That was back in 1988 in Calgary.

In 2016, the film “Eddie the Eagle” was released, which is based on his career as the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping.

At the event Eddie will entertain guests with tales about his life.

The event takes place at the Park Plaza Hotel on Maid Marian Way, Nottingham, with registration beginning at 11:30am. Tickets cost £50 for members and £65 for non-members. To book a place, visit the website nottinghamcitybusinessclub.co.uk

“I always love coming to Nottingham – it’s such a great city!” said Eddie.  “I’m really looking forward to meeting some business people at the event.”

Club president Richard Cooper said: “To have such a household name, an Olympian and a true character speaking at our Christmas lunch is a real coup and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to having the most engaging speakers at our lunch-time events.”

Nottingham City Business Club was established in 1924, with its membership comprising of senior representatives of the local business community. The cost of membership, for a limited period only to mark the club’s 95th anniversary, is £95.

The club holds monthly lunch time meetings for members to meet fellow senior business people in the city, with different prominent guest speakers featuring at each event, as well as other special events.  The club is sponsored by national law firm Buckles, who have an office in Nottingham city centre.
