Christopher Biggins Entertained Guests at Christmas Event

Over 250 people attended the recent Nottingham City Business Club sell out Christmas event at which actor, humorist, writer and general raconteur, Christopher Biggins was the guest speaker.   He entertained guests with his tales of his life and experiences in show business.

“Christopher Biggins was a great guest speaker for our Christmas event,” said James Simmonds, president of the Nottingham City Business Club.  “He captivated guests with his tales in show business.”

There was also a charity prize draw which raised £2,000 for Nottingham based substance misuse charity Double Impact which delivers drug treatment and education across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.  They provide a unique service that deals with all the issues facing recovering people, helping to break the devastating cycle of addiction.  It operates Café Sobar on Friar Lane, an alcohol free venue and meeting place.

“Double Impact feels honoured to have received this support and generous donation from the Nottingham City Business Club which will support our work helping people into employment, training and education. This event and financial support will go a long way in ensuring that our local charity and the local business community are connected, to the benefit of all involved,” Graham Miller, CEO of Double Impact Services.

The event was sponsored by Mott MacDonald, Air IT, Earl & Pelham, Jamieson Christie Property Search Group and Turner & Townsend.

The club’s next event takes place on Friday 20 January at which the guest speaker will be Barbara Cathcart, chief executive of Nottingham Hospitals Charity.  This is the charitable fundraising partner for Nottingham’s hospitals, investing in improving the environment and facilities for patients, supporting staff development and funding medical research.
