Ian Curryer, the chief executve of Nottingham City Council was the guest speaker at the club’s June event.

His talk was entitled: Nottingham: A Growing City and centred around regeneration plans for the City Centre and Southside Area. It focused on the transformation of public spaces, the opportunities for new Grade A office space and the skills needed to ensure that Nottingham continues to be the fastest growing economy in the East Midlands.

Ian joined Nottingham City Council in 1999, having previously been a head teacher at an inner city school. He went on to become Corporate Director for Children’s Services, and then Chief Executive of Nottingham City Council in 2013.
