Bank of England Agent at July lunch

The Bank of England’s agent for the East Midlands, Alastair Cunningham, was guest speaker at our July 2015 lunch.

Having been with the Bank of England since 1994, Alastair became the East Midlands’ agent in 2010 and leads a small team based in Nottingham. Much of his time is spent visiting businesses and talking to those at the cutting edge of the economy.

Prior to his appointment as agent, Alastair spent 15 years as an economist at the bank’s head office in London. He has an MSc in Economics from the University of Glasgow and a degree in History and Economics from OxfordUniversity.

Nic Elliott, club president, said: “Alastair gave a brilliant, highly-informative speech fresh from hosting Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, at Lincoln Cathedral the previous evening and we thank him as well as all our members and guests for joining us at the lunch.”
